Ruth Santee and several GearBox Gallery artists will be on hand to discuss the creative process with DeWitt Cheng, noted Bay Area critic, curator and artist.

DeWitt Cheng is an artist, collector, curator and freelance San Francisco art critic who has covered the Bay Area scene for web and print publications, including art ltd., Artillery, VisualArtSource.com, Artweek, Art News, Print Impressions, The California Printmaker, Slurry Magazine, Gusto, Eye of the Art, Art for Real, Art Revolutionaries, Shotgun Review, ArtSlant, East Bay Monthly, East Bay Express and San Francisco Art Magazine. In addition to writing for publications, he has written on many artists, emerging and established, for both print and internet, as well as galleries, art publishers, and museums.

Ruth Santee is a California based artist whose work has been exhibited in museum, gallery and non-profit venues. She received a BFA from the College of Santa Fe, NM and an MFA from the San Francisco Art Institute. Santee is a recipient of the Cadogan Fellowship Award from the San Francisco Foundation and a commission recipient from the San Francisco Arts Commission. Santee's work is in the permanent collections of the University of Oregon in Eugene, The David Brower Center, Berkeley CA and the US Forestry Service. Her work has been reviewed in publications including the Los Angeles Times, Oakland Tribune, San Francisco Chronicle and the Sacramento Bee. Santee has also been influential in Fine Art Education. She has taught at the California College of Art; Extended Ed Program, UC Davis, Saint Mary's College, and Bakersfield College. Currently she is a tenured professor at San Joaquin Delta College in Stockton CA.
