WILD/MIND explores two fundamental sides of being human – wild being the animal, primal, instinctual side; mind being the logical, & abstracting side. One connects us to nature, animals, the planet, to the universe. The other enables us to separate, to analyze, assess, conceptualize, create. Do you strike a balance between the two or privilege one of these essential aspects of our humanity over the other? Where do you find the intersection of instinct and intellect?

Awards were announced and juror George Lawson, of George Lawson Gallery in San Francisco, commented about the jury process at the Opening Reception on August 5th.

Awards included cash prizes and future exhibition opportunities at GearBox Gallery.

This call for entries exhibit was open to artists over the age of 18 and living or working in Northern California.

Last year’s juror’s award winner, Spencer Pittenger, was recently featured in Essential Elements and Other Mysteries of the Universe at GearBox Gallery
