What drives my vision is a need to be tactile, to hold a tangible brush, to remove myself from the world of static electricity and keyboards. It is my opinion that our generation needs re-linking to the physical world. The pragmatic world of computers and social networking has made us less social, less esoteric and driven our culture further away from the world of creativity.

My paintings tell a story, a narrative. The story is about a world where we choose between self-discovery and self-destruction.

I hope to contribute. I strive to create work that is honest and transitional. I labor to bring back a visceral emotional quality of levity and thought. Painting should remain a relevant form of expression and I will do my part to keep it so. Oh, it’s also a blast to create something from nothing. It’s my muse.

Like two ships passing in the night. This painting is a narrative of meeting people. The instant relationship and possibility that the moment is but a minute in a lifetime. We are rudderless and the hand of fate seems to guide us whether we know it or like it. Though you may laugh at me, it’s also about my experience online dating. J-date in particular.

“A lovestruck Romeo sang the streets of serenade Laying everybody low with a love song that he made Finds a streetlight, steps out of the shade Says something like, “You and me, babe, how about it?“
