“My series of small transient sculptures was the result of a studio course that stripped me of the materials and methods I had used in the past. My usual art, mixed media sculpture, is a laborious affair. Most pieces taking anywhere from 3 weeks to 3 months to complete. Working in this method I could create 3 to 6 pieces a class. I continued this practice at home, keeping the pieces spontaneous. This was a revelation of making that I have missed with my long term and large “serious” sculpture. As they are small, my camera was a natural ally to elevate the objects and focus the viewers attention. Printing them on a large scale further distort each pieces materials and minuscule dimensions. “Lonely Circus” pairs Animal Crackers and Bubble and is printed on a high gloss Metal Surface.”
