The Decontamination series emerges from noticing the rituals we go through to protect ourselves and others during a global pandemic. As we learn more about Covid-19 and how it spreads, our facial coverings are evolving to become dependable, multi-use accessories. In these images, they hang from rear-view mirrors behind the windshields of cars – a common enough sight, and one that exposes them to sunlight, so they may be of further service. They are also symbols to our neighbors that we are looking out for one another, even from the safety of our personal vehicles.
